Napthine Coalition building a more sustainable Bendigo

Future Employment opportunities in Eaglehawk has received $30,000 funding as part of the Napthine Coalition Government’s investment into sustainable infrastructure for the local area.

Liberal Candidate for Bendigo East welcomed news of the successful project in the Bendigo area, announced as part of the Napthine Government’s $6.4 million Community Sustainability Infrastructure Fund.

“The Napthine Coalition Government is supporting schools, businesses, community groups and local governments to keep energy and water costs down and reduce their environmental impact,” Mr Bickley said.

The project at Future employment opportunities is the expansion of polystyrene recycling program at the Eaglehawk Transfer Station

Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith said the program was delivering fantastic local sustainability projects across the state, including solar energy for schools, waste to energy initiatives for local governments and job expansion opportunities for the recycling industry.

“The Napthine Coalition has adopted a sensible approach to supporting local communities put in place sustainable infrastructure that demonstrates best practice in innovation and planning,” Mr Smith said.

“Victoria’s recycling, energy efficiency and environmental protection performance continues to grow, as result of the Napthine Government’s commitment to the sector.”

Only a re-elected Napthine Coalition can be trusted to invest in sensible environmental projects that don’t waste taxpayer dollars.

A re-elected Napthine Coalition Government is committed to delivering the Community Sustainability Infrastructure Fund.
